Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why can't I find my tariff in the drop down menu?

The suppliers are free to offer an infinite number of tariffs and to name these tariffs however they want. This can sometimes create confusion for customers as their current tariff may have 'expired' and therefore no longer exists, or a customer will not recognise a 'standard contract' as such.

For example: Eon’s standard tariff is called EnergyPlan. You can see that there is no mention of the word 'standard'.

If you do not know your current energy tariff, please double check your latest energy bill or statement.

If you are still not able to find your tariff, please send us an email via the link below, so we can investigate this further. Please provide the name of your current supplier, your payment method and the exact name of the tariff you are looking for.

  • I have lost or deleted the email containing the link to my personal offer. What should I do?

We can easily send you a new email with the link to your personal offer. Please use the contact form on the right side of the page or give a call to our help desk to request a new auction email.
  • Winner(s) of the Auction

At the end of the auction we will publish the winning supplier(s) on this page.
  • Can I still make changes after I have agreed to the offer?

If you wish to change certain data after having confirmed your switch then you need to contact your new supplier. You will find the contact details for your new supplier in the summary which we will send you after you have accepted the offer. After you have confirmed your switch with us and you have received a welcome letter from your new supplier you have a cool-off period of one week. Within this time frame you can change your mind and not choose to go ahead with the switch at no extra charge. In order to cancel the switch to this supplier you need to contact the switching service of your new supplier. You will find their telephone number on your welcome notice.
  • Where can I find my MPAN and MPRN number?

The MPAN is the number for the electricity meter at your property, often referred to as a ‘Supply’ or 'S' number. It's is not noted on the meter itself, but it should appear on your electricity bill – it is made up of the ‘last’ 13 digits on the bottom row of the S-table. If you cannot find it, please use the contact form as we will be able to help you finding this number on your energy bill.

The MPRN is the number for the gas meter at your property, often referred to as the ‘M' number. Again, it is not noted on the gas meter itself, but it should appear on your energy bill – it can be between 6 and 10 digits long. If you cannot find it, you can call the Meter Number Helpline on 0870 608 1524.
  • Does my switch involve a termination fee?

Often fixed term contracts do come with a termination fee. If you decide to terminate your contract early you may be required to pay an early termination fee. Should such a fee apply, then you should consider whether the money you may save by switching suppliers makes up for the termination fee. In most cases suppliers will only apply an early termination fee if you decide to change tariff or supplier. If you move homes then normally you will not be required to pay an early termination fee. You should always check the terms and conditions of your current contract for information on your tariff and fees.
  • How many times can I register with the same e-mail address?

You can register five homes per e-mail address, one or more of these addresses can be for a family member or neighbour. If you wish to make more online-registrations then send us an e-mail with your request by using the contact form on the right side of the page.
  • My current contract has almost expired. Am I late registering?

No, you can still register. Once your contract expires you will probably be switched to a standard tariff plan, which you can immediately terminate. Note that this depends on your contract so we recommend that you read it carefully for example be aware of any termination fees.
  • What is the purpose of organising a collective energy switching scheme?

We are all affected by rising energy costs and this switching scheme is an opportunity to begin reshaping the way energy is bought and sold in this country. Normal market conditions have failed to apply to the energy market that has been dominated by several powerful firms yet the market place has become so complicated it has become difficult for most of us to get value for money.

As an answer to this, collective switching has already proven to work. Why not join without any obligation and see how much you can save?
